How to prepare for my session

Massage Therapy

Before the Massage:

  • Hydrate: Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your massage. This will help your lymphatic system and muscular system function optimally.

  • Eat lightly: Avoid heavy meals or sugary drinks before your massage. A light, nutritious meal will help you feel comfortable during the treatment.

  • Wear loose clothing: Choose comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that won't restrict your movements.

  • Inform your therapist: If you have any medical conditions, allergies, or are taking any medications, inform your therapist beforehand.

  • Relax: Try to relax and de-stress before your massage. This will help your body respond better to the treatment.

On the Day of the Massage:

  • Arrive early: Give yourself plenty of time to arrive at the office and get settled.

  • Use a cold compress: Apply a cold compress to your face or neck before your massage. This can help reduce puffiness and stimulate lymph flow.

  • Remove jewelry: Remove any jewelry that might interfere with the massage.

  • Bring a water bottle: Stay hydrated during your massage by bringing a water bottle.

Additional Tips:

  • For MLD clients: If you have lymphedema, consult with a healthcare professional before getting a lymphatic drainage massage.
  • After your massage, continue to drink plenty of water and avoid caffeine and alcohol.

  • Use a gentle moisturizer on your skin to help it recover.

By following these tips, you can prepare for a massage that is both relaxing and beneficial for your health.

Facial

To ensure a pleasant and effective facial experience, follow these steps:

Before the Facial:

  • Remove makeup: Come to your appointment with a clean, makeup-free face.
  • Wear comfortable clothing: Choose loose-fitting clothing that won't interfere with the treatment.
  • Arrive on time: Punctuality ensures you receive the full treatment time.
  • Consult with your esthetician: Discuss your skin concerns, goals, and any allergies or sensitivities.
  • Avoid harsh treatments: Refrain from using exfoliating scrubs, chemical peels, or retinoids and tretinoin for a few days before the facial to avoid over-sensitizing your skin.
  • Hydrate your skin: Drink plenty of water and apply a hydrating moisturizer.
  • Protect from the sun: Wear sunscreen daily and avoid excessive sun exposure.

On the Day of the Facial:

  • Cleanse your face: Gently cleanse your face with a mild cleanser.
  • Avoid shaving or waxing: This can irritate your skin and make it more sensitive.
  • Bring any necessary products: If you have any specific skincare products you want your esthetician to use, bring them along.
  • Relax and enjoy: The facial is a time to pamper yourself and unwind.

After the Facial:

  • Follow your esthetician's instructions: Apply any recommended post-treatment products and avoid sun exposure.
  • Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated.
  • Avoid harsh treatments: Refrain from using exfoliating scrubs, chemical peels, or retinoids for a few days after the facial

Following these recommendations will enhance your skincare treatment to obtain a facial effect!
